Real Time Location Services

RTLS or indoor positioning systems (IPS) can be simply described as indoor GPS used for indoor tracking, locating and monitoring the activity of people and movements of things. With RTLS technology location data is received from devices (location satellites) attached to ceilings or walls and transmitted via UWB through active asset tags mounted on equipment and wearables for people (tags or badges). The location data is then accessed in a variety of ways, including via various program interfaces (API), to different programme modules in production and via the business network. Codel RTLS solution is based on the latest RFID technology (UWB) and provides the most precise positions for tracking assets. How Does It Work?

MULTI-TAG TRACKING

Deploying a network of anchors enables the tracking of a large number of tags throughout large places. The Multi-Tag Tracking configuration, (3D RTLS) is a server-based acquisition system capable of collecting location information about every tag in the monitored space.

GPS-LIKE POSITIONING

GPS-like Positioning relies on the same location network infrastructure as the Multi-Tag Tracking configuration. A noticeable difference, however, is that GPS-like Positioning is device-centric meaning that the position of a device is computed by the device itself which simply analyzes the UWB synchronization signals used by the location network. With a time-based measurement almost as precise as an atomic clock our location network matches the efficiency of the fleet of GPS satellites in orbit. Our tags run algorithms similar to GPS receivers and because they just receive and never transmit there can be a vast number of them in operation.

Which Components Are Required?

TAG

The tags are mobile transceiver units. Due to their compact dimensions and various mounting options the tags can be easily attached to moving objects such as industrial trucks, pallets and packages, shopping carts, shopping baskets or be worn from persons.
